MTB in Nepal: Ride the Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang

In short: Mustang, in the Nepalese Himalaya, is one of the most remote MTB destinations on the planet: high-altitude desert, Tibetan villages, trails above 4,000 meters and descents of over 3,000 vertical meters in a single route, with views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. BikePark Holidays offers a 14-day guided trip there, run in English, with the internal flight to Jomsom included and international flights to Kathmandu not included.

If you're looking for the ultimate mountain bike adventure, it doesn't get more raw, remote, or unforgettable than enduro MTB riding in Nepal.

At BikePark Holidays, we're expanding beyond Europe to offer once-in-a-lifetime riding experiences — and this trip to the legendary Mustang region, known as The Forbidden Kingdom, is one of the most unique MTB journeys on the planet.

Mustang, Nepal: The Ultimate Himalayan MTB Destination

Hidden in the rain shadow of the Himalayas, Mustang offers a completely different riding environment — high-altitude desert, ancient Tibetan culture, and endless raw terrain.

Key stats of riding in Mustang:

  • Up to 250–270 km of riding across multi-day expeditions
  • Trails reaching 4,000+ meters altitude (the Mesokanto pass, on our 14-day trip, tops out at 5,300 m)
  • Descents of over 3,000 vertical meters in a single route
  • More than 15,000 meters of total descending on enduro-style trips
  • Riding through the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world

This is not a bike park. This is expedition riding at the highest level.

Ride the Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang

Mustang was closed to outsiders until 1992, preserving a landscape and culture unlike anywhere else on Earth.

What makes MTB in Nepal truly unique:

  • Ancient Tibetan villages and monasteries
  • High-altitude desert landscapes and canyon systems
  • Remote singletrack and rugged jeep trails
  • Views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, two of the world's highest peaks

Every day feels like riding through a different planet — with terrain that ranges from fast-flowing descents to technical, exposed sections.

A Different Kind of MTB Experience in Nepal

Unlike traditional bike holidays, MTB in Nepal is about exploration and progression.

  • Long-distance riding days in high-altitude terrain
  • Shuttle-supported enduro sections combined with pedaling
  • Cultural immersion with local communities
  • A true sense of isolation and adventure

This is designed for riders who want more than bike parks — those looking for a defining experience.
